About The Job

An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sous Chef to join Colleague Dining Room in Jumeirah Muscat Bay. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

  • Supervise kitchen section(s) to ensure tasks are completed according to standards, including stock management, portion control, food quality, and cleanliness.
  • Implement measures to minimize waste and control operating costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Evaluate food products for consistency and quality, maintaining high standards in food preparation.
  • Stay informed about new kitchen techniques and culinary trends, incorporating relevant innovations into operations.
  • Monitor team members’ grooming, hygiene, and compliance with safety regulations and SOPs, providing coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct training sessions to develop team members’ knowledge and skills.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Software competencies – Microsoft Office programs (Intermediate)
  • 3-5 years within the same role and position in a luxury resort or high-end restaurant.
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Previous HACCP training
