About the job

Job Purpose:

To contribute to the growth in volume and earnings of Bank’s Corporate Banking business and ensuring a healthy Corporate Banking portfolio by guiding, mentoring the corporate banking team and originating, structuring and executing responsible client/bank relationships across various sectors in line with banks strategic objectives.

Key Tasks and Duties:

  • Significantly build strategic relationships and onboard/uptier large key unbanked relationships and come up with an account plan for delta revenues
  • Ensure all reviews are submitted on time for the unit.
  • To provide support in developing & reviewing various bank policies & procedures.
  • To keep abreast of local, regional and global economic conditions to ensure the Bank’s business is not vulnerable because of changing economic factors and that opportunities are identified and exploited.
  • Manage the activities of assigned personnel in the division and performs managerial duties and exercise financial authority at the level established by management.
  • Build and manage relationships with clients and understand their more complex needs.
  • Develop Sector Specific Strategies for Corporate Bank to uptier their existing relationships and target new to bank client relationships.
  • Being proactive and creative in understanding and providing solutions to client’s financial needs and services. This includes pitching for Primary Lead Syndication Roles for NBO for clients financing needs and delivering Syndication mandate with successful execution of the same.
  • Ensure LMA and related market practice documentation is closed on transactions within approved terms and conditions for specific transaction lesioning with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive and facilitate cross selling of NBO products including (Treasury,Investment,cash management, retail and liabilities)
  • Ensure growth in volumes & earnings from the portfolio being handled in line with agreed business budget
  • Increase market penetration by adding new accounts
  • Ensure overall health of the corporate portfolio
  • Regular sessions of mentoring with ARMs and on the job involvement.

Qualifications:

A first degree in Banking or Finance or the equivalent in an appropriate subject. A post graduate Management degree is desirable.

Experience:

At least 10 years of Banking experience of which at least 6 should be in a senior position and involving financial analysis & assessment of Corporate/ Industrial / Business / Management risk. An ability to develop and train staff is essential
