Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.
Purpose of the Job
Responsible for ensuring deliverables meet Technical requirements, Quality Assurance, Schedule and Cost requirements, Implement Standardization, Simplify the process of engineering deliverables review and approval, Practice LEAN and continuous improvements
Education & Experience
- Degree in in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy Engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years in Material & Corrosion Management Framework, Coating specification, Cathodic protection Design, Datasheets, equipment specifications, drawing
- Oil & gas Experience Preferred
- Meets Minimum requirements of Technical Authority of TA-2 in Material and Corrosion discipline.
- Thorough understanding of the risks and the technical/commercial issues associated with the development of oil and gas projects.
- Strong site experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to company HSE & AI-PSM requirements.
- Plan and support the development of new Technical professionals.
- Ensure compliance to discipline engineering standards, work processes, systems and tools.
- Continually seeks new ways of working to improve performance and to improve value delivery to projects.
- Attend Design Reviews, HAZOP’s, 3D Model review, etc. for all projects.
- Carry out appropriate discipline and inter discipline checks and reviews of engineering and design
- Implement standardization and continuous improvement initiatives with Respective discipline.
- Provide discipline inputs to Concept selection Report (CSR) and Basis of Design (BfD)
- Review respective Engineering Cost, Time and Resource (CTR) Catalogue and deliverable list for projects.
- Review and approve Respective discipline deliverables from Consultants and vendors e.g. Material Selection Report, Corrosion Management Framework, Coating specification, Cathodic protection Design, Datasheets, equipment specifications, drawings…etc.
- Review man-hours consumption claimed by engineering consultants with respect to approved project CTR.
- Provide technical support for projects in construction phase & CSU phase and answering site queries.
- Capture Lesson Learned of executed projects and participate in project Lessons Learned workshop.
- Participate in technical integrity verifications (TIV) exercise and expedite closure of identified gaps.
- Identify the requirement and represent Company in factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Pre-inspection Meeting when required.
- Participate in Pre-Startup Audits (PSUA) and provide required support to ensure statement of fitness (Sof) completion.
- Support and follow-up close out of actions agreed in project reviews.
- Review Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and review Technical queries (TQ) raised during TBE stage.
- Provide inputs and assurance to Technical HSE for DEM-1, DEM-2 and AI-PSM lesson learned compliance check list.
- Evaluate, support and endorse technical deviations raised by engineering consultants and vendors for respective discipline.
- Participate in sites visits like, QA audits, HSE audits and Shutdown support.
- Participate in vendor kick-off meetings and ensure SOW, schedule, and lesson learned are incorporated in the agenda.
- Provide technical support to Facility Improvement Project.
- Review and approve all TA2 Material and Corrosion deliverables for the assigned projects.
- Support the development of New Technical Professionals and other development team members.
- Provide and review contract C4/C6 sections and construction SOW for projects
- Provide technical support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for failures during project execution.
